Best Practices for SEO
Be descriptive: Use clear, specific titles and descriptions that accurately represent your content
Include keywords: Incorporate relevant keywords that your audience might search for
Keep it natural: Write for humans first, search engines second
Use unique content: Avoid duplicate titles and descriptions across your site
Be concise: SEO titles ideally should be under 60 characters, descriptions under 160 characters
Behind-the-Scenes SEO
Uscreen automatically handles many technical SEO elements:
Video titles are used as H1 tags on video pages
Structured data markup helps search engines understand your content
The default open graph tags are generated from your video thumbnails for better social sharing
Request Recrawling and Reindexing
When you make SEO changes to your content, search engines need to recrawl your pages to recognize these updates. Here's how to request recrawling:
Google Search Console
Create or log in to your Google Search Console account
Add and verify your website domain if you haven't already
Once verified, go to URL Inspection in the left menu
Enter the full URL of the page you want to recrawl
Click Request Indexing
Bing Webmaster Tools
Sign in to Bing Webmaster Tools
Add and verify your site if you haven't already
Navigate to Configure My Site > Submit URLs
Enter the URLs you want to recrawl (up to 10 per day)
Click Submit
Submitting Your Sitemap
For broader reindexing, submit your sitemap to search engines.
NOTE: Remember that search engines control the crawling and indexing process. While requesting recrawling or reindexing can expedite the process, it may still take time for changes to appear in search results.
Even with perfect SEO settings, ranking well in search results takes time and consistent effort. Continue adding quality content and optimizing your existing pages for the best results.
