The Authors report tracks the total watch time and unique views per author. The report gathers data from all the content associated with the author, so if you do not assign authors to your content, it won't provide you with any information. This report can help you quickly figure out what percentage of total play in minutes can be attributed to each author, so you can calculate the views per author for revenue sharing.

When it comes to collections, the authors' views can vary depending on who is the author of the collection. A collection author supersedes a video author. If the video is part of a collection with an author, the views go to the collection author and not the video author. If the collection doesn't have an author, the views are not counted towards the video author when viewed in a collection.

To get to the report, navigate to Analytics and click on Authors to see a list of all of the authors' watched time and views during that period.

You can sort your authors by Watch Time or Views by clicking on the headers. The information displayed will be from the previous 30 days.

The Authors report can be exported as a CSV file so you can store the data. To download it, click on the Export CSV button and save it.

If you would like a report of a previous month, then change the date by clicking on the Date box. You can select a date from the calendar.
