Block Google from Crawling Specific URLs

Learn how to request temporary removal of a URL from Google Search results using Search Console.

Updated this week

If you want to prevent a specific page on your Uscreen site from appearing in Google search results, follow the steps below. This method uses Google Search

Console to request the temporary removal of a URL.

Note: This approach is temporary and must be repeated approximately every six months.

Step 1: Add Your Domain to Google Search Console

Before you can request a URL removal, make sure your domain is added and verified in Google Search Console.

Step 2: Submit a URL Removal Request

  1. Go to the Removals tab in Google Search Console.

  2. Click New Request.

  3. Choose Remove all URLs with this prefix.

  4. Enter the full URL you want to block (e.g., https://yourdomain.com/pages/your-page-slug).

  5. Click Next, then confirm to submit the request.

Tip: You can block individual pages or a group of pages by adjusting the URL prefix.

Summary

While this method provides a way to temporarily hide specific URLs from Google Search, it does not permanently remove them from indexing. Revisit the Search Console every few months to resubmit removal requests if needed.
