Play Music while Watching Videos in Native Mobile Apps
Updated over 4 months ago

You audience members can listen to the music of their choice, in Spotify or Apple Music, while watching your videos, in the native iOS and Android mobile apps.

That's right! Your Uscreen app allows your members to watch your videos, and listen to music, and hear both audio, at the same time!

How to listen to music and watch a video at the same time

Members simply play your video in your Uscreen app, then swipe over to their preferred music app. They control the video in Uscreen... and their music in Spotify or Apple Music, by swiping back and forth between apps.

Why this is beneficial for you and your audience members

This is a particularly useful feature, if you are a fitness, wellness, or exercise business.

Maybe you struggle to find the right music. Maybe your audience members have a wide range in their taste of music. Maybe you find music licensing and copyrights annoying. So now just let your audience members play the music that they want, that motivates them to complete their workout videos, and keep coming back to your content.

This feature is likely to increase your audience engagment and retention, since they can now listen to the music of their choice.

Other Important Notes

  • This feature requires mobile apps 3.19 or later, released in July 2024

  • This works with Spotify and Apple Music, the two leading music apps on iOS and Android mobile devices.

  • Music is controlled inside the music app, not Uscreen. Why? Because Spotify and Apple Music are robust and familiar for your audience members. Better controlled from those dedicated apps and avoid complex integrations, developer accounts, and integration credentials and Uscreen doesn't want to recreate a music app. Better to fit alongside

Pro Tips

  • Want to provide a curated playlist for a video? Create that playlist in Spotify, then include that playlist link in the video description

  • Tired of music licensing and choosing the right music? Record your video content with no music, and encourage your audience to play their own music.
