Understanding the Video Review Process

All videos uploaded to Uscreen undergo a compliance review before being published in your catalog.

Updated this week

Why We Review Uploaded Videos

To maintain a safe environment, Uscreen reviews all videos uploaded via the Admin Area. This ensures every video aligns with our Content Restrictions and protects you and your audience.

How This Helps Protect Your Business

Content reviews are also a layer of protection for you and your business:

If a team member uploads inappropriate content—intentionally or by mistake—the review may help prevent it from being published.

💡 While we can’t guarantee this review will catch every issue, it adds an important checkpoint between upload and publication.

This means your brand reputation, member trust, and content consistency are better safeguarded, without adding more work to your plate.

The Real-World Impact of Non-Compliant Content

Violating content restrictions can have serious consequences beyond Uscreen:

  • Blocked on Uscreen if it violates our platform terms.

  • Account restrictions by Stripe for terms violations, which can prevent you from collecting payments.

  • App store rejections or bans from Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, etc. for violating app guidelines.

How the Review Process Works

When you upload a video to Uscreen, here’s what happens next:

Step 1: Automatic Review

  • You will see a notification letting you know that your video has been uploaded and is now processing.

  • As soon as a video is uploaded, it’s automatically scanned for potential violations of Uscreen's publisher terms. Your video will not be available in your catalog until it completes processing:

Step 2: Human Review

If our system detects potential issues:

  • The video is sent to our Content Review Team for manual evaluation.

  • This process can take about 2 to 72 business hours.

What Happens After Review?

If Your Video Is Approved

  • You will see an approved notice on your video settings:

  • You can then add it to your catalog as usual.

If There’s a Problem

  • We’ll notify you of the reason(s) the video was flagged.

  • You will see a disapproved notice on your video settings:

  • You’ll have the option to:

    • Edit and re-upload the video

    • Submit an appeal if you believe the content complies with our terms.

⚠️ Important: Do not delete the original video while under review. This may delay the resolution process.

How to Submit an Appeal

If your video is disapproved after review, don’t worry, you can request a second look.

To appeal a disapproval:

  1. Edit your video to address any flagged issues.

  2. Click the "Submit for Review" button that appears in your video settings.

  3. Alternatively, if you think we made a mistake, you can:

    • Click the Contact button at the top of the page to reach our Trust and Safety team and ask any questions about your content.

    • Reply directly to the notification email you received.

In your appeal, include:

  • A detailed explanation of why you believe the video complies with our Publisher Terms.

  • Any context or clarification that may help our team understand the intent and content.

📝 Tip: Be as specific as possible. The more information you provide, the easier it is for our content team to process your appeal.

Our team will review your appeal and respond as quickly as possible.
