What is the Catalog?

The central hub where your members discover, browse, and access all your content

The Catalog is your content gateway, the central hub where all your content is displayed to your members.

It serves as the main navigation point for members to discover and access your videos, collections, and livestreams.

Structure of the Catalog

The Catalog follows a simple, user-friendly structure that helps members easily browse and discover your content.

It's designed to feel familiar, similar to popular streaming platforms like Netflix.

Header

The header runs across the top of every catalog page and provides the core navigation and branding elements your members use to orient themselves on your site:

Web Catalog Sections (New Website Editor only)

A horizontal navigation bar sits at the top of your catalog, giving members quick access to dedicated sections without having to hunt through menus.

The sections include:

  • Browse: the main catalog view where members discover all your content. You can customize the name and icon to match your brand (e.g., "Classes," "Library," "Explore")

  • Favorites: a dedicated space for content the member has saved for easy re-access

  • Playlists: where members can find and manage their personal video collections

  • Watch History: a running log of everything the member has watched, making it easy to return to past content

  • Notes: quick access to any notes the member has taken while watching content

ℹ️ INFO: It creates a consistent experience that mirrors your mobile app, making it easy for members to pick up where they left off across any device.

Featured Category

The Featured Category is the hero section at the very top of your Browse view, the first thing members see when they land on the catalog.

It's a large, prominent carousel designed to spotlight the content you most want members to engage with, whether that's your newest release, a curated collection, or an ongoing series.

πŸ’‘ TIP: You control exactly what appears here, making it a powerful tool for driving attention to key content.

Search & Filter Bar

Sitting just below the Featured Category, the Search & Filter bar gives members two ways to find specific content quickly:

  • Search: members can type keywords to find videos or collections by title, description, or search keywords you've assigned

  • Filters: members can narrow down the catalog by category, author, or any custom filters you've created (e.g., difficulty level, duration, equipment)

πŸ’‘ TIP: Together, search and filters ensure members can always find what they're looking for, even in a large library.

Content Area

The main body of the catalog is organized into horizontal rows, each representing either a dynamic row generated automatically by the system or a content category you've created as an admin.

Dynamic Rows

Dynamic rows are generated automatically based on member activity or content status. They're personalized, where each member may see different content in these rows, or not see a row at all if they have no relevant activity yet.

  • Recommended For You: An AI-powered row that surfaces personalized video suggestions based on each member's viewing history and preferences. The more a member watches, the more accurate the recommendations become. Only visible to signed-in members who have some watch history.

  • Continue Watching: Automatically tracks videos the member has started but not finished, so they can pick up exactly where they left off without having to search for what they were watching.

  • My Library: Shows all the content the member currently has access to through their subscription or purchases, giving them a clear view of everything available to them.

πŸ“ NOTE: Favorites and Playlists were previously accessible as dynamic rows within the catalog. They are now dedicated sections accessible via the Web Catalog Sections navigation bar. On mobile apps, they're accessible under More > Content.

Content Categories

Content categories are the admin-defined rows that form the backbone of your catalog.

ℹ️ INFO: Every published video assigned to a category will appear in its corresponding row.

πŸ”— Learn more about Categories

You create and manage these yourself, grouping your videos by theme, topic, instructor, workout type, or any other organization that makes sense for your library.

πŸ’‘ TIP: If you've scheduled a video for future release, it will automatically appear within its assigned category row with a Coming Soon label on its thumbnail.

FAQs

What's the difference between dynamic rows and content categories?

Dynamic rows like Continue Watching, Favorites, My Library, Recommended For You, and Coming Soon are generated automatically by the system based on member activity or content status. They're unique to each member, so one member's Continue Watching row will be completely different from another's. Content categories, on the other hand, are rows you create and manage as an admin. They display the same content to all members who have access, and you control what goes in them.

Why can't I see the Web Catalog Sections navigation bar?

Web Catalog Sections are only available on stores using the New Website Editor. If your store is still on the legacy liquid theme, this feature isn't available yet. πŸ”— Learn more about the New Website Editor

Why don't I see a Recommended For You row in my catalog?

Recommended For You is currently in Closed Beta for select stores only. If it is available on your store, the row only appears for signed-in members who have some watch history, and new members without any viewing activity won't see it yet.

Why isn't a scheduled video showing as Coming Soon in my catalog?

A scheduled video must be assigned to at least one category to appear in the catalog as Coming Soon. Without a category assigned, the video won't be visible to members regardless of its scheduled release date. Also, check that Coming Soon is enabled on your store, as stores created before April 2026 may need to contact Support to have it turned on. πŸ”— Learn more about Scheduled Releases & Coming Soon

Are Playlists available on TV apps?

Not currently. Playlists are available on the web and iOS/Android mobile apps only. For TV apps, members can use the Favorites feature as an alternative way to save and quickly access their preferred content. πŸ”— Learn more about Favorites

Can I control which dynamic rows appear in my catalog?

Dynamic rows appear and disappear automatically based on member activity. You can't manually hide individual rows, but rows with no relevant content for a specific member simply won't be shown. For example, a member with no watch history won't see Continue Watching, and a new member without any viewing activity won't see the Recommended For You row.

What's the difference between Favorites and Playlists?

Favorites is a single auto-generated row where members bookmark content they want to revisit quickly, which is available on web, mobile, and TV apps. Playlists are custom collections that members build and organize themselves, with the ability to create multiple lists, reorder videos, and enjoy autoplay, which is available on web and mobile apps only. πŸ”— Learn more about Playlists
