Live Streaming via Gated Zoom Links

Sell access to a gated zoom link on your storefront.

Updated over a month ago

You can now use Zoom meetings as gated live stream content on Uscreen! This allows you to schedule, promote, and restrict access to your Zoom-based sessions just like you would with a standard live stream—without needing to use RTMP or the built-in Live Studio.

🚀 How It Works

  1. Set up your live stream as usual

    • Navigate to Live Events

    • Click Create Live Event

    • Choose Zoom as the live stream type

  2. Paste in your Zoom meeting link

    • Create a Zoom meeting in your Zoom account

    • Copy the meeting link and paste it into the Meeting Link field in Uscreen

    • Add a title, description, and access rules like any other event

    • Save your changes

  3. Set the visibility & publish your stream

    • Choose to Publish your live stream if you want members to preregister

    • Once your countdown timer hits 0, a “Join Zoom” button appears instead of a video player

    • Clicking this button opens Zoom and takes the user to your meeting

  4. Start your live stream.

  5. Users will be able to access the meeting link once you're live:

📱 Cross-Platform Behavior

  • Mobile apps: Users tap “Join Zoom” and their Zoom app opens automatically

  • TV apps: Since Zoom meetings don’t open on TVs, we show a QR code that users can scan with their phone to join

  • Accessing Zoom Links: Users must be on the latest version of apps (3.2.3+) to see Zoom meetings in the app.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Recording: Unlike the Uscreen Live Studio or RTMP streams, Zoom streams are not recorded by Uscreen.

If you want a replay, you’ll need to record the session manually in Zoom.

  • Privacy: Access to the Zoom link is gated just like any other content — based on pricing plans or content access rules.

  • Zoom pricing: You may need a paid Zoom account to access certain features.

🙋‍♀️ Why Use Zoom for Live Streams?

This is a great choice if:

  • You want to offer interactive sessions like workshops, coaching, or Q&As

  • You’re already using Zoom and want a quick setup
