If you want to use your own Content Delivery Network (CDN) for live streaming on Uscreen, you can integrate any CDN provider that supports HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) playback URLs.
This allows you to manage your own bandwidth and potentially reduce streaming costs by purchasing in bulk from a third-party provider.
💡 Tip: A commonly used CDN provider is ScaleEngine, but you can use any provider that gives you a secure HLS URL.
How It Works
1. Set Up Your CDN
Choose and sign up with a CDN provider that supports HLS streaming. After setting up your account, the provider will give you an HLS playback URL.
This URL must begin with https:// to ensure secure delivery.
Ensure the CDN is properly configured for live HLS delivery.
2. Create a Live Event Using RTMP
In your Uscreen dashboard:
Go to the Live Events section.
Click Create New Live Event.
Select Stream software | RTMP as the stream type.
Complete the rest of the event setup as usual.
3. Send the HLS Playback URL to Uscreen Support
Once you have the HLS playback URL:
Contact Uscreen Support and share your HLS URL and the specific live event in your account you want to use the HLS URL for.
Our team will replace Uscreen's default CDN with your provided link for your live stream setup.
Warning: Please allow 24–72 business hours for this change to take effect. Requests cannot be fulfilled on short notice, so be sure to plan ahead.
This method is intended for advanced users who are familiar with live streaming infrastructure. Uscreen Support cannot assist with setting up or troubleshooting third-party CDNs.
