Connect to Stripe

Connecting Stripe to Uscreen allows you to start collecting payments from your members

Updated this week

You'll need a payment provider to start charging users. Uscreen integrates with Stripe and uses a number of Stripe products to charge your users.

Uscreen uses the Billing, Invoices, and Dynamic Payment Method products with Stripe that each have their own cost. Pricing is country-specific so please check Stripe's pricing page to see the most updated pricing for your region.

Stripe products used by Uscreen

Stripe Billing is used to manage the subscription lifecycle of your users. Here are the benefits you can expect with Stripe Billing:

  • Increase sales by offering multiple payment methods such as Google Pay, Apple Pay, SEPA, iDEAL, Cashapp, and more.

  • Maximize conversion with Stripe's Dynamic Payment Methods, which shows the payment methods most likely to convert based on the subscriber’s device and geographic location.

  • Reduce involuntary churn (expired credit cards, bank errors, or declined transactions) with Smart Retries, automated failed payment emails, and automatic card account update technology.

Stripe Billing includes a fee of 0.7% of recurring transaction volume, but monthly flat-rate options are available. Learn more here.

Card processing fees for Stripe start at 2.9% +$0.30 per transaction, but costs vary depending on your country, selected currency, and payment method used.

Invoices are used for one-time sales in your storefront and have a 0.4% fee for one-time sales volume.

All fees mentioned reflect Stripe's current pricing as of today. To ensure you are always up-to-date with Stripe's fee structure, please visit their pricing page.

Optional features

You can enable optional features in Stripe to manage your business such as Stripe Tax or Stripe Radar.

With Stripe Tax accurate sales tax, VAT or GST amounts will be automatically calculated and collected at checkout, making compliance with country or state laws easier and saving you money. Learn more about associated fees for Stripe Tax.

Stripe Radar adds machine-learning fraud protection to reduce fraudulent purchases on your storefront. Learn more about associated fees for Stripe Radar.

If you sell in more than one currency, you may incur currency conversion costs when Stripe pays your balance.

Many additional optional features exist in Stripe, but not all are implemented or available through Uscreen. If you're trying to use a new feature and you're not sure it works with Uscreen, let our support team know.

Connecting Stripe

To connect it, navigate to Settings then click on Payment Providers. Then find the Stripe option and click on Connect account.

After you have created your account and have been approved, insert the email that you used to register with Stripe and finish connecting it to its platform.

Checking your storefront currency

Depending on your home country, Stripe will limit what currency you're able to process transactions in. Please double-check with Stripe as to what currency you are able to process payments in.

You'll then need to check your General settings here and set the currency before taking your first payment. Once you run 1 transaction through your Uscreen storefront, you will be locked into that currency.

NOTE: This is an important step that you do not want to skip!
