Try Again for Free Overview

Win Back Canceled Members with a Second Chance Trial

Updated over 2 weeks ago

You can give canceled users another free trial to entice them back. Sometimes, when a customer cancels their subscription, the timing just isn't right, and a future trial of your content is all they need to resubscribe.

NOTE: To prevent promotional exploitation, the Try Again for Free automation will not be triggered if a user was already on trial when they cancelled the subscription.

You can create an automation that will kick in 30 days after cancellation. Offer a free trial, with a duration of your choice, to entice the customer to become a paying subscriber again.

The automation is created from each subscription plan. To create one, select the plan, the duration of the trial, and customize the email templates. Then your Try Again for Free campaign will be ready to go live!

Quick Stats on Marketing Page

To view basic stats for each automation:

  1. Navigate to Marketing > Try Again for Free.

  2. Click on the Stats button for the automation you want to check.

This view shows the following columns:

  • Status: Current status of each automation created

  • Total Users: Number of former members who are recipients of the automation

  • Trial Accepted: Number of users who initiated the new free trial offered

  • Saved Subscribers: Number of users who accepted the offer and continued with the subscription

Detailed Analytics

For more comprehensive analytics:

  1. Go to Analytics > Marketing > Try Again for Free.

This section provides detailed metrics, including:

  • Offers sent: Number of offers sent to former members.

  • Trials accepted: Number of trials started as a result of a free trial offer.

    • Acceptance rate: Percentage calculated as trials accepted / offers sent.

  • Saved members: Members who reactivated after the free trial.

    • Conversion rate: Percentage calculated as saved members / offers sent.

  • Revenue saved: Total revenue generated from reactivations after free trials

NOTE: Users will receive the offer 30 days after having canceled the plan. Another email will be sent 4 days later to remind them to accept the offer. If they don't start the trial within 3 days after the last email, the offer will be unavailable. They can refuse the trial, come back to it, and accept it, but after getting the reminder a second time, they will only have 3 days to accept it.
