Automations

Updated today

Automations is a powerful new feature in the Uscreen admin area that helps you nurture leads, onboard new members, and keep your existing members engaged, without relying on third-party tools like Mailchimp or Zapier.

This feature is currently in limited beta, and we’re actively improving it based on feedback. You may encounter bugs and limitations.

Why Use Automations?

Email remains one of the most effective tools for running a successful subscription business. Automations allows you to send timely emails based on member activity right from within Uscreen.

Use Automations to:

  • Convert free trials and leads into paying members

  • Welcome and guide new subscribers

  • Run drip campaigns that keep members active and engaged

  • Add or remove tags to help segment your audience for future campaigns

How Automations Work

Each automation includes:

  • Trigger – The event that starts the automation (e.g., a subscription purchase)

  • Optional Filter – Conditions to narrow down who qualifies (e.g., only monthly plans)

  • Actions – What happens next (e.g., send emails, add tags, wait for a time delay)

You can build custom flows using combinations of these building blocks.

Example Use Case: Onboarding Sequence

Here’s an example of an automation that welcomes a new paid subscriber:

  1. Trigger: Subscription purchased

  2. Filter: Plan is "Monthly Web" or "Yearly Web"

  3. Actions:

    • Add a tag: web_onboarding

    • Send Email 1: Welcome to your new membership!

    • Wait 24 hours

    • Send Email 2: How to get started

    • Wait 48 hours

    • Send Email 3: Download the app

    • Wait 72 hours

    • Send Email 4: Here’s a popular video to watch next

    • Remove the tag: web_onboarding

This “tag sandwich” lets you track when a user enters and exits an automation sequence.

How to Create a New Automation

  1. Go to Marketing > Automations in your Uscreen admin.

  2. Click Create New Automation.

  3. Select a trigger (e.g., subscription purchased).

  4. Add filters if needed.

  5. Add your actions:

    • Apply or remove tags

    • Send emails (with subject, body, CTAs, etc.)

    • Add delays between messages using Wait steps

  6. Customize your emails using the visual editor.

  7. Click Publish when you're ready.

Once published, any member who matches the criteria will automatically go through the flow. And will help our filter members from being in multiple automations at the same time.

Managing Automations

From the Automations dashboard, you can:

  • View and edit existing automations

  • Duplicate or delete automations

  • Set an automation to Draft or Published

  • Monitor how many users have entered each automation

Tags & Filters: Optional but Powerful

Tags help you track, segment, and personalize your marketing efforts. While optional, tags can be used in:

  • Filters within automations (coming soon)

  • Audience targeting for future email broadcasts (coming soon)

What’s Next

Automations is still in its early stages and currently supports:

  • Trigger: Subscription purchase, trial, canceled

  • Actions: Send emails, apply/remove tags, wait steps

  • Filters: Subscription, bundles, status, etc.

We’re actively expanding functionality to include:

  • More triggers

  • More filters logic

  • Additional action types

  • Tags
