Trailers are short preview videos that showcase the quality and value of your content to potential customers.
They serve as powerful marketing tools that can significantly boost your subscription and purchase rates by reducing buyer uncertainty.
💡 TIP: Adding trailers to your videos and collections is one of the most effective ways to convert viewers into paying customers.
Benefits of Adding Trailers
Increase conversions by letting potential customers preview content before purchasing (can boost conversions by up to 52%)
Reduce uncertainty for potential subscribers who want to see your content quality
Enhance discoverability by making your content more engaging in your catalog
Function as a "self-sponsorship" within your content marketing strategy
Adding Trailers to Individual Videos
Before assigning a trailer to a video, you must first upload the trailer to your video library.

ℹ️ INFO: Trailer videos don't need to be published to function correctly. We recommend keeping them unpublished to prevent them from appearing as standalone content in your catalog.

Select your uploaded trailer
Click Save Changes

How Trailers Appear to Users
For logged-in subscribers: The "Watch Trailer" button appears below the video player
For non-subscribers and logged-out visitors: The trailer automatically plays in place of the main video, with pricing options displayed alongside it
Adding Trailers to Collections
Collection trailers work similarly to video trailers but are applied to an entire collection of videos.
This helps viewers decide if they want to purchase or watch the entire series.
💡 TIP: You only need to upload your trailer video once. The same trailer can be used for both individual videos and collections without re-uploading.

Best Practices for Trailers
Keep trailers short (30-60 seconds) to maintain viewer interest
Highlight the best parts of your content to entice viewers
Include a verbal call to action in your trailer video
Use high-quality footage that represents your content accurately
Consider creating a collection-level trailer that showcases highlights from multiple videos within that collection
💡 TIP: Think of your trailer as a "self-sponsorship" where you take 30 seconds to a minute mid-video to promote your own offer. For content that can't be interrupted (like a yoga class), place your verbal CTA in your closing remarks.
Platform Availability
Trailers are visible on:
Web (all browsers)
Mobile apps (iOS and Android) with a "Trailer" button below the player
TV apps (Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Fire TV)
📝 NOTE: Trailers for videos inside collection playlists are supported on web and mobile apps, but not on TV apps. This is part of the intentional design differences between our platforms.
