Verify Your Custom Email Domain

Improve email deliverability and build sender reputation with a verified custom domain

Updated yesterday

Ensure your emails reach your members' inboxes by setting up a verified custom email domain. This simple process improves deliverability, builds sender reputation, and maintains your brand consistency across all communications.

Why Use a Custom Email Domain?

Using a verified custom email domain significantly improves your email deliverability by:

  • Building sender reputation with email providers like Gmail and Yahoo

  • Reducing the chance of your emails landing in spam folders

  • Creating a consistent brand experience for your members

  • Increasing open rates for your marketing campaigns

ℹ️ INFO: This applies to all outbound emails from your site, including welcome emails, order confirmations, and marketing campaigns.

Quick Setup Guide

Follow these steps to access your email settings and prepare for custom domain setup:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Marketing Email Settings

  2. Customize the Sender Information

    • From Name field: the sender name

    • From Email field: the prefix of your sender email (@no-reply.uscreen.io)

  3. Click Save

Custom Email Domain

Now let's configure your domain to work with Uscreen's email system:

Step 1: Connect your Custom Email Domain

  1. Enter your custom domain or subdomain into the provided field

  2. Click Connect

Step 2: Configure the DNS Records

  1. You’ll be shown three DNS records to add to your DNS provider

    • e.g., Namecheap, GoDaddy, or where your active DNS records are hosted

  2. Open your DNS Manager with your DNS provider

  3. Copy and Paste (create) each DNS record as shown

📝 NOTE: The CNAME pm-bounces and TXT _dmarc records remain constant, but the domainkey record will be different each time you attempt the process. If you need to restart verification, a new domainkey and value will be generated.

Step 3: Verify the Settings

  1. After configuring the DNS records with your provider, wait for the changes to propagate

  2. Click Verify DNS Records

  3. Then, click Verify

📝 NOTE: DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate on some hosts. If verification fails initially, try again later. The verification option will remain available for 48 hours. If this time passes and the option disappears, you'll need to restart the process, and a new domainkey record will be generated.

When successful, the DNS status will show Verified ! 🎉

Manage Your Email Settings

After successful verification, you can:

  • Change your sender name at any time

  • Modify the email prefix (the part before @yourdomain.com)

  • Revert to the default Uscreen email domain if needed

  • Switch to a different custom domain by repeating the setup process

ℹ️ INFO: All changes take effect immediately for future emails.

Best Practices for Email Setup

Choose the Right Sender Address

  • Don't use personal email addresses for your sender email

  • Create a dedicated address like support@yourdomain.com or no-reply@yourdomain.com

  • Using a personal email increases spam risk and can damage your domain and sender reputation

Setting Up Email Inboxes

Uscreen only handles outbound emails. To receive replies:

  1. Set up an email inbox with a mail provider like Google Workspace or Zoho Mail

  2. Configure your MX records according to your email provider's instructions

💡 TIP: Alternatively, you can create email forwarders in your mail host to manage incoming messages, if needed.

FAQs

Can I use a personal email address as my sender email?

Technically, yes, but we strongly advise against it. All replies will go to that inbox, and it increases spam risk.

Does Uscreen provide email inboxes?

No, Uscreen only sends outbound emails. You'll need a third-party provider like Google Workspace to manage email replies.

Will this affect all my emails?

Yes, once verified, all system emails (welcome, order confirmations, marketing) will use your custom domain. 🔗 Learn more about Email Templates
