Why Use a Custom Email Domain?

Using a verified custom email domain helps ensure your emails land in your Members’ inboxes, not their spam folders. With Uscreen’s Marketing Email Settings, you can:

  • Use the default Uscreen email domain

  • Or set up a custom, authenticated domain verified with your DNS provider

This applies to all outbound emails from your site, including:

  • Welcome emails

  • Order confirmations

  • Marketing campaigns

How to Access Marketing Email Settings

  1. Go to your Settings tab.

  2. Click Marketing Email Settings.

Customize Your Sender Name and Email

  1. In the From name field, enter the name you’d like to appear as the sender.

  2. In the From email field:

    • Keep the default Uscreen email

    • OR select Set Custom Email Domain to use your own domain

Set Up a Custom Email Domain

To send emails from your domain, follow these steps:

Step 1: Enter Your Custom Domain

  1. Click Set Custom Email Domain.

  2. Enter the domain you’d like to use.

  3. Click Connect.

Step 2: Install DNS Records

  1. You’ll be shown three DNS records to add to your DNS provider (e.g., Namecheap, GoDaddy, or Cloudflare).

  2. Open your DNS Manager with your DNS provider.

  3. Copy and paste each DNS record exactly as shown.

Note: The exact records will be unique to your domain setup and will differ from this article.

Important Email Domain Tips

  • Do NOT use your personal email address. All replies—including out-of-office messages and support inquiries—will go to the inbox you enter.

  • Instead, use a dedicated email such as support@yourdomain.com or no-reply@yourdomain.com.

  • Using a personal email address can increase the risk of your email being marked as spam or reported.

If Members mark emails from your personal address as spam, major providers like Gmail or Yahoo may block your address entirely, making it impossible to deliver future emails. This is a serious risk to your communication through your own dedicated inbox. We highly advise AGAINST using your own personal email inbox.

Step 3: Verify Your Domain

  1. Back in Uscreen, go to Step 3.

  2. Toggle: I’ve added all records.

  3. Click Start Verification.

Note: This process may take some time. All DNS changes can take upwards of 48 hours to complete, depending on your DNS host.

Keep trying the verification process every so often until complete.

Once successful, your DNS status will show Verified (in green).

Uscreen and Email Inboxes

Uscreen does not provide an email inbox. We only handle outbound email.

To receive replies or manage emails, we recommend using an external provider like:

  • Google Workspace

  • Zoho Mail

Note: Our team cannot provide support for third-party services like Google Workspace. Please contact them directly for assistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I use a personal email address as my sender email?

A: No. We strongly advise against it. All replies, including out-of-office responses, will go to that inbox. Use a dedicated or no-reply address instead.

Q: What if my domain doesn’t verify within 48 hours?

A: Recheck your DNS records and formatting. Some providers may require different CNAME formatting. Use whatsmydns.net to confirm propagation.

Q: Can I receive replies to marketing emails?

A: Yes, replies will go to the email you set in the From email field. Make sure it’s an inbox you monitor or set up a no-reply address if replies aren’t needed.

Q: Does Uscreen offer email inboxes?

A: No, Uscreen only sends outbound emails. You’ll need a third-party provider like Google Workspace to manage email replies.
