Device Sessions Limits (beta)
Updated over a week ago

Device Sessions Limits is a beta feature! โฐ This feature is recently expanded. It was previously called simultaneous viewing limits, but Uscreen updated the name, since this beta feature now tracks actual device logins.

Sometimes, your audience members might share their accounts with others, who are not paying subscribers. You know this story.... like using your friend's Netflix account. Then, certain audience members watch your content without paying.

At Uscreen, we want to make sure that you earn the revenue that you deserve, especially for your premium, paid, quality content.

So we are working on this "Device Sessions Limits" feature. It tracks all of the devices and sessions of account logins. It prevents accounts, who are signed in, on too many devices, from playing your content. This protects your content from those who share their accounts, or sign in, on too many devices. This is similar functionality to Netflix, Disney+, Spotify, Kindle, and other streaming and content services. And this feature is particularly helpful for popular live streaming events.

You configure the number of device sessions per account! The default, and Uscreen recommended limit, is 3 devices. This reasonable limit allows each member to be logged in on their personal phone, laptop, and tablet, for example.

You can also adjust this default limit, if you want to be more strict, or more liberal. You can even set a device limit by subscription plan!

Device Sessions Limits is a great upsell opportunity for a premium or family plan, within your household, like with kids, spouse, partner, roommate, etc. all using multiple devices within the limit. You can control the device limit.

Device Session Limits Beta

Simultaneous Viewing Limits is in beta! This means it is an early release feature. You may optionally enable it. Right now, there are limited capabilities. Some capabilities will change. Uscreen plans to improve it further. But we also want to give you early access, as soon as possible, since we know you will benefit from this improvement.

Beta also means we want your feedback! So please share your related feedback in a feature suggestion or with your friendly Customer Success Manager.

Too Many Device Prompt

Here, someone has too many device sessions. They can not watch videos or live events. They are prompted to go to their device list, and sign other sessions. This is a great time to sign out other sessions

Device Session List

Your members can see their list of signed in devices on web and the mobile apps. This list contains all login sessions, across web, mobile apps, and TV apps. You members will need to "sign out" other sessions, before watching video or live events, if they are beyond the allowable limit.
