Stripe Tax

Enable Stripe Tax to begin collecting tax at checkout and on existing subscription purchases.

Updated over a week ago

Stripe Tax is in Beta, contact your customer support manager to get access.

Stripe Tax is an add-on for Stripe Billing that allows you to automatically calculate and apply tax on purchases made in your checkout.

Stripe Tax charges 0.5% for each transaction where Tax is applied.

When you enable Stripe Tax, Uscreen will automatically enable tax on your existing subscriptions. There is no fee for transactions that do not have tax applied.

Stripe tax is only available for Stripe transactions at this time, PayPal support is coming soon.

To get started with Tax collection, first enable the jurisdictions in Stripe that you want to collect tax for.

When the Tax beta is enabled in Uscreen, your users will be asked to enter their address. Based off their Zip/Postal code, we will identify their location and check if you've setup tax collection for the their location in Stripe.

Enabling tax may cause some existing subscription payments to fail due to changing the price of the subscription. This is outside Uscreen's control and can happen with any price change for users. Banks set their own risk level for this.
