External Webpage as a Custom Mobile Apps Tab

Give members a seamless path to your shop, blog, or resources, right inside your mobile app

Updated this week

The Custom Mobile App Tab feature lets you add one external webpage as a custom tab to your mobile app's navigation that links directly to any external webpage, like your shop, blog, or resource page.

This gives your audience easy access to everything you offer while keeping your content and community at the center of your app experience. This also gives you greater control over your app’s brand and identity.

  4. Enter your external webpage URL

  5. Give the tab a custom title

  6. Choose an icon from the library

Customizing Mobile App Tabs

You can now also customize your mobile app navigation bar by renaming the tabs to better reflect your language and audience. Choose from new icons that visually match your brand and tab purpose. Reorder tabs with drag-and-drop to surface the right content first.

Set the default tab to guide members to the most important part of your app. Choose your layout style (icons + text, or icons only for a clean, minimalist look).

📝 NOTE: These options are currently available for mobile apps only.

Best Practices

Tab Customizations

  • Keep tab names clear so members instantly understand where to go

  • Choose icons that accurately reflect each tab's purpose to make navigation feel familiar at a glance

  • Set a default tab that delivers the strongest first impression; we typically recommend the Catalog so your content is front and center

  • Consider an icons-only layout for global audiences to create a universally recognizable experience, regardless of language

📝 NOTE: Long titles will be truncated. Default tab titles support translation, while custom ones don't.

External Website Tab

  • Keep it clear and useful, as the tab should add value, not distract from your content and community

  • Use mobile-optimized pages so members don't have to pinch and zoom

  • Choose familiar labels like "Store," "Blog," or "Resources."

  • Use only trusted HTTPS sites

  • Test your link before saving to make sure it loads smoothly

  • Don't go weird: no personal sites, random memes, or unrelated content. Your app is still subject to app store review and approval.

ℹ️ INFO: App stores may reject weird, misleading, broken, off-brand, or inappropriate experiences.

Final Thoughts

This new feature makes your app more dynamic, more personalized, and more you.

Try linking to your merch store, blog, or resources. Just keep your member experience front and center.
