To set up a trigger in Zapier, you're first going to need your Zapier API Key from Uscreen.
Navigate to Settings > Integrations and you'll copy the key that you see in the Zapier section.
Now let's set up a trigger in Zapier.
In Zapier, click Make a Zap. Search for Uscreen under Choose App & Event. You'll then Choose a Trigger. You can pick anything but when you do you'll be asked for your Uscreen API Key. Paste it and click Yes, Connect.
You only need to add your API key once, since when it's validated, any new zaps you create will use the same key.
Your account is now connected to Zapier, but we'll keep going here and make something cool happen.
You'll want to click Continue and then with Zapier, it's always good to test out your data.
Click Test & Continue and it will attempt to look for an existing piece of data in Uscreen that it can run its tests with. Since I selected the New Customer in Uscreen trigger it's going to look for an existing customer.
You can build Zaps without existing data, but you won't know if it fails in the future when it should have run.
In this example, I'm going to send all new customers to a spreadsheet I've created in Google Sheets as a sort of backup of my customers. I select Google Sheets and then there is some information it wants from me: my action event, which I chose Create New Spreadsheet Row, which spreadsheet I want to send the data to, and finally, I need to match the columns I've created with what's available in this trigger. There were only three: ID, name, and email. These columns need to exist in your spreadsheet so Zapier knows where to organize the data it sends.
Once I turn the zap on, every new subscriber is then added to my backup spreadsheet.
