Uscreen’s donation feature lets you collect tips or contributions during your live events. This feature is enabled on a per-event basis and is currently available only on web browsers. Donations are not yet supported in native mobile or TV apps.
Enable Donations in the Event Settings
Navigate to Content → Live Events in your admin dashboard.
Select the live event you wish to edit.
Under Player Options, locate the Enable Donations toggle below the Enable Chat option.
Live Chat must be enabled before you can enable donations.
Switch the toggle to enable donations for this event.
Note: Donations must be enabled separately for each live event.
How Viewers Make a Donation
Once donations are enabled for a live event, viewers who are logged in and have access to the event will see a donation icon in the live chat area.
Click the Donate icon in the chat.
A pop-up window will appear, allowing the viewer to:
Select a suggested donation amount (which adjusts based on your storefront’s currency).
Enter a custom donation amount (minimum of $2 due to transaction fees).
Add an optional message to accompany their donation.
Click Continue to proceed to the payment confirmation screen.
Confirm payment details and complete the donation.
Note: Larger donation amounts will display with distinct colors in the chat, making them easily noticeable during the live stream.
Tracking Donations in Invoices
To monitor and manage donations received during live events:
Optional: Assign an Author to your live event to help you categorize donation recipients.
Navigate to Sales → Invoices in your admin dashboard.
Use More Filters to view invoices by Donations and select Author to further drill down into the intended recipient.
When viewing individual invoices under a user’s profile in the People section, donations will be labeled with the type Donation and will include the title of the associated event.
