Calendar Streaks (beta)
Updated over a week ago

Your members can now see a streak of days they watch videos! This motivates your audience by visualizing consecutive watching days. Streak is a calendar feature that helps engagement and retention by encouraging daily usage, similar to other popular apps like Duolingo.

Notes:

  • Currently early release beta feature

  • Contact Uscreen for access

  • Only available on a Uscreen Plus plan

  • Requires mobile apps version 3.20+ available Sept 2024

  • Not available on TV Apps

Streaks Early Release Beta

This means it is an early-release feature. You can contact Uscreen to enable it if you like. Right now, there are limited capabilities. Some capabilities may change. Uscreen plans to improve it further. But we also want to give you early access, as soon as possible, since we know you will benefit.

Beta also means we want your feedback! So please share your related feedback in a feature suggestion or with your friendly Customer Success Manager.

Enable Streaks

Since Streaks is in beta, please contact Uscreen for us to enable it for you. Then...

  • Go to Admin > Content > Calendar > Settings > General

  • Select Yes or No to Show Streak

How Streaks Work

  • Members continue their streak, when they watch any single video for 15 or more seconds, on a day. Yes! Any video, such as a catalog video, live event, or video on the calendar.

  • Members lose their streak, if they do not watch 15 seconds of video. Their streak will reset to zero.

  • Members can view their streak on the calendar, indicated with a green line

  • Members can see their current streak (if they have one) and best streak

How to know if a Streak was continued

  • On mobile, you'll see a green highlight and a green line connecting the days where your streak was counted. You'll also see a "Current Streak" counter below the calendar.

  • To double-check today's streak you can see the green line connecting yesterday to today's date or simply tap another date on the calendar to see that today's date is also highlighted in green:

  • On the web, you'll see a green line through the dates that are counted for your current streak:

Current Limitations

  • Streaks will not be counted for videos played while offline. If a member watches a video they saved for offline play, and they watch it offline, their streak will not be counted.

  • Streaks will not be counted for videos played on TV apps. Currently, Streaks is only supported on Web, iOS, and Android apps.

  • Streaks will not be counted for videos played over Chromecast. Videos must be played natively on the Web or mobile App to be counted for a Streak.
