Uscreen offers two PayPal integration options: Legacy PayPal and Native PayPal.
The Native PayPal integration provides direct payment deposits to your PayPal account with enhanced control over your finances.
ℹ️ INFO: If you started using PayPal after July 1st, 2024, this article does not apply to you, as you're already using the Native PayPal integration.
Key Differences
Legacy PayPal Integration
Payment Processing: Payments are processed by Uscreen and distributed to your bank account through Bill.com
Subscription Management: Uscreen manages all subscriptions and payment details
Handling Fee: Includes a 2% handling fee
Payout Delay: Payments are sent to you after a 30-day waiting period
📝 NOTE: Existing subscribers cannot be migrated from Legacy PayPal to your own PayPal account. They will continue to be processed through the Legacy integration until they cancel or change their payment method.
Native PayPal Integration
Direct Connection: Connect your own PayPal Business account directly to Uscreen
Instant Deposits: Payments from new subscribers are deposited directly into your PayPal account instantly
No Handling Fee: Eliminates the 2% handling fee
Enhanced Control: Direct management of your financial transactions and reporting
Flexibility: Can be used as a primary payment provider without requiring Stripe
Improved Management: Faster access to your funds with simplified financial management
💡 TIP: The Native PayPal integration gives you more control over your finances with instant deposits and no handling fees, making it the preferred option for all new subscribers.
Transition Process
For Existing Subscribers
Continuity: Subscribers using the Legacy PayPal integration will continue making payments without changes
No Disruption: No interruptions to existing subscriptions
Consistent Payouts: Uscreen will continue handling payouts for legacy subscribers
⚠️ WARNING: If you wish to disconnect Legacy PayPal, please contact Uscreen Support. Be aware that disconnecting Legacy PayPal will affect all current subscribers who chose PayPal at checkout.
These subscribers will need to provide a new payment method at the end of their current billing cycle to continue their subscription.
For New Subscribers
Direct Payments: Payments will be directly deposited into your PayPal account
Native Integration Only: New subscribers who select PayPal will use the Native PayPal integration
Gradual Transition: Over time, as legacy subscribers cancel or transition, you'll see more direct payments to your PayPal account
ℹ️ INFO: While both Legacy and Native PayPal can coexist in your account, only Native PayPal will be available during checkout when both are connected. Legacy PayPal is only kept to process payments of existing active members who previously attached this payment method.
Using PayPal Without Stripe
With the Native PayPal integration, you can now accept PayPal as a primary payment processor without using Stripe. This gives you flexibility in how you manage your payment options and allows you to use PayPal exclusively if that's your preference.
This enhanced flexibility is part of our effort to provide you with more control over your payment processing.
