What are Email Broadcasts?
Email broadcasts are one-off emails that you can send to your subscribers, leads, and more in bulk. They are located under the Marketing section, specifically under Email Broadcasts.

Preview Your Email
You can preview your email before sending it. Simply click on Preview at the top of the editor. You can also choose to send a test email to your email address. This is a great way to visualize how the email will appear in inboxes.
Choose your Recipients
You can use rules to designate the recipients you would like to receive your broadcast:
Easily target specific segments of your audience using the new grouping feature with AND/OR filter logic.
Available Filter Options
You can add as many filters and groups as needed to refine your audience targeting. Here are the types of filters you can use to define your audience:
Subscription: Target users on specific plans (e.g., Monthly, Annual).
Bundle Access: Choose users who have access to specific bundles.
Subscription Status: Filter by current status (Active, In trial, Churned, Paused).
Note: If you do not specify Subscription Status, your filter will include all statuses, Active, In Trial, Paused, and Churned, when using the Subscription filter.
Churned: These are your former subscribers who are no longer active in your membership.
Lifetime Spend: Set criteria based on how much the user has spent in total or if they have not spent anything at all.
Tip: You can target your leads by using the Lifetime Spend filter and set it to Equals 0.
Understanding Groups and Filter Logic
The Email Broadcast audience builder lets you combine multiple conditions to pinpoint exactly who should receive your message. You can use filters within a group, and combine multiple groups using AND logic.
Filters Within a Group: ANY, ALL, or NONE
Each group of filters can be configured to match:
Any of the following (OR logic)
All of the following (AND logic)
None of the following (NOT logic)
Use this to control how filters work within a group.
Example:
Goal: Email all users who are currently subscribed, regardless of whether they are on Monthly or Annual plans:
1 Group – Matching all of the following:
Subscription Status = Active, In Trial
You don’t need to filter by specific plan types if your message is meant for all current subscribers.
Using Multiple Groups: AND Logic
When you add multiple groups, each group must be true for a user to qualify. Groups are connected using AND logic.
Example:
Goal: Email current non annual members and suggest they upgrade to Annual, but exclude users already on Annual or who are not currently active or in trial.
Group 1 – Matching any of the following:
Subscription Status = Active, In Trial
Group 2 – Matching none of the following:
Subscription = Annual
👉 Excludes Annual members from the email, focusing on everyone else.
This ensures you’re only emailing active or in trial members who are not already on Annual.
Tip: Use multiple groups to combine broader filters (like spend or access) with more specific ones (like subscription status or plan type).
🔔 Important Note About Audience Size:
Email broadcast and people segments are managed in separate systems, meaning their numbers may not align. You cannot compare the number of people you send to and the number of people in your people segments as they will not align. Here’s why:
Bounced emails - If email addresses in your audience are invalid or experiencing inbox server errors, they may “bounce” when you try to send an email. This reduces the number of recipients in your broadcast but does not affect the total in your People tab.
Spam rates - Users marking your emails as spam may reduce the number of emails successfully sent. However, these users are still counted in the People tab, as their profile data remains.
Opt-outs - If users unsubscribe from email communications, they are excluded from broadcast counts but remain part of your People tab unless they request full account deletion.
Older Contacts - Uscreen automatically filters out contacts from being able to be sent broadcasts that have not been active in your membership or received an email from you in 12 months. This is to help protect your sender reputation across the internet.
These mismatches are expected and okay. Large gaps in numbers usually indicate the scenarios above.
Sending Your Broadcast
When you're ready you can click on Send Broadcast to finalize and send your email. You'll see a checklist to make sure you've completed all of your steps and then you can choose to send it now or send it later.
Note: The “Send later” time is based on the time zone set in your General Settings. Make sure your time zone is correctly configured before scheduling broadcasts.
Tracking Stats
You can track open rates on the email broadcast list page:
The stats for your email broadcasts will update every several hours. They do not update in real-time.
If you want to track more specific stats on links clicked, make sure you're adding UTM parameters to your links and have the Google Analytics integration installed wherever your links send your users.
