To enable DRM-protected video playback on Samsung Smart TVs, your app needs to be authorized through Samsung's partner distribution system.
This is a Samsung-side requirement that you'll need to complete directly in your Samsung developer account, and it's separate from the DRM setup on Uscreen.
Prerequisites
Before getting started, make sure:
DRM is already enabled on your Uscreen store
You have access to your Samsung Apps TV Seller Office account
Your Samsung TV app has already been submitted at least once
Partnership status can only be applied for after your app exists in the system
Applying for a Partner-Level Distribution Certificate
Log in to the Samsung Apps TV Seller Office
Navigate to the Membership section
Locate the Partnership menu item
Fill in the partnership form
In your description, explain that you need a Partnership status in order to play DRM-protected content in your app
Submit the form and wait for Samsung's approval
Once approved, submit an app update request through Uscreen so the team can resubmit your Samsung TV app with the updated certificate
💡 TIP: Apply for Partnership status as early as possible, as Samsung reviews applications manually, and approval times vary. If you have a planned launch date, don't leave this to the last minute.
