An Audience is a saved set of filters that defines a group of your members. Build it once, and reuse it across Email Broadcasts and Automations without rebuilding your targeting criteria each time.
You may know this as "Segments" or "Groups" on other platforms.
Targeting the same group of people repeatedly is common. You might send a monthly update to active subscribers, run a winback campaign to churned members, or set up automations for leads who have never purchased.
Creating an Audience
📝 NOTE: An Audience always reflects your current member list. Filters are evaluated in real time, so the group updates automatically and dynamically as members join or leave the criteria.
Navigate to People > Audiences
Click Create Audience
Enter a name for your Audience
Select the filters that define your group
Click Save
The Audience Builder uses the same interface as recipient filters.
Where You Can Use Audiences
Once saved, an Audience is available as a recipient option in:
Email Broadcasts: select a saved Audience as your recipient group instead of building a new filter for each send
Automations: select a saved Audience in the filter step instead of defining enrollment criteria from scratch
A Few Common Examples
Active Subscribers: members currently on a paid plan
Leads: people who gave you their email but have not yet purchased
Churned Members: subscribers who have cancelled in the last 30 days
Trial Users: members currently in a free trial
💡 TIP: You can create as many Audiences as you need. A small library of five or ten well-named groups will cover most of your regular sends.

Understanding Member Counts
The count shown next to each Audience reflects how many members currently match the filter criteria. It does not account for channel-specific eligibility rules.
When you use an Audience in a campaign, the actual number of recipients may be lower:
Email Broadcasts: excludes bounced addresses, opted-out users, and spam reporters
Automations: uses a slightly different base pool
📝 NOTE: This is expected behavior. The same Audience can reach different numbers of people depending on where it is used.
Managing Your Audiences
Click any Audience to open it in the editor and modify its filters.
⚠️ WARNING: Edit with care. Changes to an in-use Audience affect all connected Broadcasts and Automations immediately.
From the Audiences list, click the ellipsis (...) on any Audience to access these options:
Rename: update the Audience name
Duplicate: create a copy of the Audience with the same filters
Delete: permanently remove the Audience
📝 NOTE: You cannot delete an Audience that is currently in use by a Broadcast or Automation. Remove it from any active campaigns first before deleting it.
