Member Badges

Reward members with badges for streaks or anything else you automate

What Are Badges?

Badges reward your members for reaching a milestone, and appear on their profile in the Community. A badge can be:

  • Streak-based: awarded automatically when a member reaches a watch-streak length you define (e.g., 7 days)

  • Standalone: not tied to any streak at all; you award it yourself through an automation, for anything you choose

🎯 Think of badges as combining these 3 C's:

  • Consistency → encourages daily viewing

  • Community → members showcase badges in their profiles

  • Completion → recognizes members for reaching a goal

💡 TIP: Badges effectively promote consistent viewing habits and increase content retention by rewarding members for their dedication and progress.

Creating & Publishing a Badge

📝 NOTE: Badges requires a Uscreen Plus plan. If your store is on a trial or a different plan, clicking Badges shows an upgrade prompt instead of the badge list, and you can upgrade directly from there.

  1. Navigate to Community > Badges

  2. Edit an existing badge or Create a new one

  3. Give it a title and upload an image

  4. Optionally turn on Award for a Streak and set a day count to tie it to a streak milestone, or leave it off to create a standalone badge

  5. Publish the badge

📝 NOTE: A badge can't be awarded by a streak or by an automation, until it's Published.

Awarding a Badge

Streak-Based Badges

These award automatically once a member's streak reaches the day count you set. Streaks themselves need to be enabled first.

ℹ️ INFO: This guide covers Badges specifically. For everything about tracking watch streaks, enabling Calendar Streaks, Streak Breaks, and how streaks appear on the calendar, see Calendar Streaks & Badges.

Standalone Badges

A standalone badge has no automatic trigger, so it won't be awarded to members until you push it out through an automation.

The Award Badge action in Marketing > Automations is how you do this.

To award a standalone badge:

  1. Create and publish your badge in Community > Badges, with Award for a Streak turned off

  2. Navigate to Marketing > Automations and open the automation you want to use, or create a new one

  3. Add an Award Badge step to your sequence

  4. Select the badge from the dropdown

  5. Optionally enter a reason; a short message the member sees when the badge appears on their profile

  6. Publish the automation

Members who reach that step receive the badge automatically! 🏆

📝 NOTE: It's currently not possible to manually and directly assign a badge to an individual member. Awarding only happens through streaks or automations.

The Award Badge action works with any automation trigger, combine it with User watches video to celebrate finishing a piece of content, or Subscription Anniversary to recognize a membership milestone.

⚠️ WARNING: The Award badge step only appears, and only awards, while Streaks & Badges is enabled under Content > Calendar > Streaks & Badges. This applies even to standalone badges with no streak attached. If that setting is off, the step won't appear in the action picker, and any existing Award Badge steps pause: members pass through without being awarded anything, and no automation run fails or gets stuck.

Viewing Badge Winners

Each badge shows an award count. When a badge has been earned by at least one member, that count becomes a clickable link.

  1. Navigate to Community > Badges

  2. Click the award count (Awarded To column) for any badge

💡 TIP: This opens a list of the members who've earned that badge, so you can recognize and engage your most committed fans.

Badges for Members

Members can view their own badges under their profile on the website or app (Account).

A See all badges link there takes them to the full list under their Calendar settings (.../calendar/setting/edit).

Members may also view other members' badges under their profiles in the Community (.../community/profiles/{user_ID}).

📝 NOTE: Streaks & Badges features are currently not available on all TV Apps.

FAQs

Can I create a badge without a streak?

Yes. Turn off Award for a streak when creating a badge to make it standalone. You'll need to award it yourself through an automation, see Awarding a Badge above.

How do I award a standalone badge to my members?

Create the badge in Community > Badges with Award for a streak turned off, then add an Award badge step to an automation in Marketing > Automations. Any member who reaches that step in the automation receives the badge automatically. There's currently no option to assign a badge to an individual member directly.

Are badges awarded for break days?

Badges are only awarded for actual watch days, not break days.

Can I see which members have earned a specific badge?

Yes. Click the award count shown for any badge on the Badges page to see a list of members who've earned it.
