Member Watch History

Allow your members to track their viewing journey and rediscover content they love

Your members can now view their complete video watch history from the past 12 months. This feature creates a more Netflix-style experience, making it easier for members to track their progress, revisit content they enjoyed, and stay engaged with your library.

Watch History improves member engagement and retention by:

  • Increasing time-on-platform through easy content rediscovery

  • Building viewing habits with visible progress tracking

  • Creating a premium experience that matches expectations from platforms like Netflix and YouTube

  • Supporting learning journeys for course-based and educational content

  • Encouraging repeat viewing for fitness and habit-based programs

ℹ️ NOTE: Watch History works seamlessly across web and mobile apps, giving your members a consistent experience on different devices. You must be using the New Website Editor to access this feature.


How Members See Their Watch History

On the website

Members can access their Watch History by:

  1. Selecting the Watch History section from the:

    1. Catalog Sections

    2. Profile dropdown menu

  2. Scrolling through previously watched videos

  3. Tapping any video to start watching again

On mobile apps

  1. Navigate to More > Content

  2. Select Watch History


Admin Settings

  1. Navigate to Website

  2. Go to the Catalog tab

  3. Toggle Watch History

  4. Click Save & Apply

💡 TIP: We recommend enabling the feature as it's a common and expected baseline feature that members look for, similar to Netflix and YouTube.


Important Notes

  • Watch history includes the last 12 months only to optimize performance

  • A video counts as "watched" after 10+ seconds of viewing

  • Only individual videos are recorded (no collections or bundles)

  • Free previews and trailers are not included in watch history

  • Members cannot clear or remove items from their watch history at this time

  • Available on web and mobile apps (TV app support coming later)

  • Mobile apps: Available on version 3.31

  • TV apps: Planned for Q2 2026


FAQs

How is this different from Continue Watching?

Continue Watching feature shows in-progress content that hasn't been completed. Watch History shows all previously watched videos from the past 12 months, even if they were fully completed. 🔗 Learn more about the Continue Watching Feature

Does this affect existing "watched" logic?

No. Watch History uses the same logic as Continue Watching (10+ seconds). The features can be enabled or disabled independently.

Is this available on all plans?

Yes. Watch History is a baseline feature available to all customers on all plans.

Can admins see member watch history?

Yes. Admins can see member watch history in Admin > People, or by impersonating a specific user. 🔗 Learn more about the Watch History (Admin View)
