Uscreen's Community allows you to create engaging content that fosters meaningful interactions among your members.

From text posts and polls to videos and images, you have multiple ways to spark conversations and build relationships within your platform.

Creating a Community Post

  1. Navigate to your Community page (/community)

  2. Add text to your post

  3. Select a channel for your post

  4. Optionally, add media attachments (images, videos, GIFs)

  5. Click Post Now to publish immediately, or use the dropdown arrow to schedule or save as a draft

Hyperlink Text

You can highlight any text in your post and add a hyperlink.

  1. Highlight the text

  2. Click the A icon in the post editor

  3. Click on the hyperlink icon to add your URL

Media Attachments

Images

Users can upload these supported image formats from the web or mobile apps.

  • jpeg/jpg

  • png

  • webp

  • gif

๐Ÿ“ NOTE: Uploading large images may take a while, depending on the speed of your network. If the upload takes more than about a minute, it may time out.

Videos

You can attach videos to posts in two ways:

  • Catalog Videos

    • You can attach existing publicly available videos from your catalog

    • Use the 'search' function in the video attachment menu to find videos

  • User-Generated Videos

    • If enabled, users can attach their own short videos to posts

    • Videos longer than 60 seconds will be trimmed to the first minute

    • This feature is only available through mobile apps

    • Uploaded user videos don't count toward your account's storage quota

GIFs

You can also add a GIF to a post using the GIF option when creating a new post.


Polls

Polls are a powerful way to engage your community and gather valuable feedback. They allow members to vote on options you provide, creating interactive discussions.

Creating a Poll

  1. Navigate to your Community page (/community)

  2. Click the Poll button in the post editor

  3. Give your poll a title

  4. Add options for people to vote on (minimum of 2)

  5. Toggle "Allow multiple answers" if you want members to select more than one option

  6. Select the channel where you want to post the poll

  7. Click Post Now to publish immediately, or use the dropdown to schedule the post

Poll Features

  • Members can vote by selecting one or multiple options (if enabled)

  • Results are displayed in real-time

  • Members can comment on polls just like regular posts

  • Admins can see who voted for each option in Analytics > Community

๐Ÿ“ NOTE: Once published, poll options cannot be edited. If you need to change the options, you'll need to delete the poll and create a new one.

Poll Best Practices

  • Keep questions clear and concise

  • Limit options to 4-6 choices for better engagement

  • Use polls to make community decisions and show members their input matters

  • Follow up on poll results with actions or discussions


Editing a Community Post

Users can edit their own Community Posts at any time. Admin users can edit any post in the Community.

  1. Navigate to your Community page (/community)

  2. Find the post you want to edit or delete

  3. Click the ellipsis (...) on the post that you wish to edit or delete

  4. Make your changes

  5. Click Save to update or Delete to remove the post

Moving Posts Between Channels

You can move a post from one channel to another after it's been published.

  1. Navigate to your Community page (/community)

  2. Find the post you want to move

  3. Click the ellipsis (...) in the top-right corner of the post

  4. Select Edit

  5. Choose a new channel from the channel selector

  6. Click Save

โ„น๏ธ INFO: When moving a post, all associated likes and comments will move with it to the new channel.


Searching for Community Posts

You can utilize the search box to find specific posts in your community:

  1. Enter keywords or phrases in the search field

  2. The search will be performed across all community channels, regardless of which channel you're currently viewing

  3. Search results will only display posts from channels that the user has access to

โ„น๏ธ INFO: For members, search results will only include posts from public channels and private channels they have access to. Admin users can see posts from all channels in search results.


Community AI Assistant

The AI Assistant helps admins create engaging posts more efficiently:

  1. Navigate to the AI Assistant section (visible only to admin users)

  2. Configure Audience and Tone of Voice in AI Settings

  3. Click Generate Title or compose your own, and click Generate to create the post.

  4. Review and edit the generated content before publishing

FAQs

Can anyone post a poll?

Yes, any member of your community can post a poll.

Can polls be edited after posting?

You can edit the poll title and description, but you cannot edit the poll options or results after publishing. If needed, you can delete the poll and create a new one.

Can I move a poll to a different channel?

No, polls cannot be moved between channels after they're published. You would need to create a new poll in the desired channel.

Can I pin important posts to the top of a channel?

Yes, admin users can pin posts to keep them at the top of the feed. Click the ellipsis (...) menu on a post and select Pin to Top.

Can I format text in my posts?

Yes, you can use basic formatting options like bold, italic, and hyperlinks in your posts.

Can I @mention other community members?

Yes, you can @mention other members to notify them about your post or comment.
